From the stage, expect a formal welcome from Vice Mayor of Culture and Business Development at the City of Oslo, Anita Leirvik North.This sets the tone for your newfound Oslo adventure.
There will be a short talk by Lorelo Desjardins, who will share her experiences as a newcomer to Oslo and some top tips to navigate the professional and social scene here.

Anita Leirvik North
Vice Mayor of Culture and Business Development
Anita Leirvik North (H) assumed office as the vice mayor for culture and business on October 25, 2023. She is the leader of Oslo Høyre Women’s Forum, a member of Oslo Høyre’s executive committee, and has been a substitute member in the city council since 2020. She was also a member of the Vestre Aker district council from 2019. Leirvik North holds a cand.mag. degree from the University of Oslo and a master’s degree in property studies from Instituto de Empresa in Madrid.

Martine Mæland is a Project Leader at Oslo Business Region, working to empower the innovative ecosystem in Oslo. She is working to provide startups and scaleups with the tools they need to grow. She is passionate about talent attraction/retention, place branding and making Oslo the preferred destination for founders, talent, investors and business

Senior Content Designer, Oslo Kommune
To achieve a more inclusive Oslo, Thea challenges the municipality’s services to create comprehensive offers and information tailored to non-Norwegian speakers in Oslo. She seeks to be a catalyst for change, persistently questioning the status quo and creating collaboration across the public sector. Her commitment to this cause serves as a driving force to Oslo Municipality’s initiative, «Welcome to Oslo”.

Lawyer & author of «A Frog in the Fjord»
Lorelou Desjardins is a French lawyer, and has lived in Oslo for 14 years. She is the author of best-seller book «A Frog in the Fjord: One Year in Norway», and writes in newspapers on Norwegian culture seen with an outsider’s perspective.
